Amber is an agroecologist with a strong foundation in sustainable agriculture, integrated pest management, and permaculture. Her teaching blends key elements of soil health, plant botany, ecology, and hydrology. She earned her undergraduate degree in Ecology from the University of California and completed her master’s and doctorate in Agroecology at Ben-Gurion University. Dedicated to fostering a healthy environment and ensuring food security, Amber collaborates with farmers and conducts research to develop sustainable solutions to plant pests and diseases.
Anshul has a background in soil science, Permaculture design and education. He has been teaching and farming in different locations in India for over ten years and now settled in Auroville. He is deeply interested in finding a solution for long-term food security for the community while developing visions for agriculture of the future. He believes that the role of farming to grow food does not restrict itself solely to quantities but expands the idea of food for progress and perfection. He is involved in several research projects around the ecological and social aspects of agriculture and is currently completing his Masters at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Erik was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo before moving to Belgium. Qualified as a tropical agronomist, he worked for seven years with ‘Terre & Humanisme’ in France (an international agroecology organisation, created by Pierre Rabhi). Erik also brings his experiences as a project manager in African and Asian settings and as an environmental activist, beekeeper and writer. He has been a valuable member of the AuroOrchard team since 2015.
